Half term all the way across country.

Over the May school holiday, Jack, myself and the girls went on a little trip to Cornwall. We were apprehensive about the journey as we were traveling from the most easterly point of the UK over the West, so we decided to break the almost 7 hour with a stop off in Devon.

For two nights we were very kindly gifted a stay at the John Fowler site in Brixham, Devon. I stayed at lots of holiday sites when I was growing up and thought this would be the perfect mix of comfortable living space and facilities for the children to play. We were given a self catering family cabin to stay in. John Fowler had recently carried out a refurbishment and you could see it had recently been done as we were welcomed to fresh paint and new furnishings throughout.

On site there is a small park and brilliant swimming pool. We did look at the club house facilities and have to admit they weren't really our thing and in need of some updating. Wha was particularly lovely about this site, is that in short walking distance is a little hidden oasis. The walk itself is beautiful, with wildlife, wild flowers and a wonderful view out on to a stunning wild beach. We wandered down and enjoyed almost entirely to ourselves.

The second day was a bit of a wash out, but that didn't matter too as we were off on our next adventure to the John Fowler site in St Ives. The perfect location as we were meeting family near by. On arrival, the staff were very organised and we were swiftly shown to our cabin. It was beautiful. Nestled in woodland and given the appearance of a wood cabin. Right up our street! The cabin, a really nice large static caravan in side, had all the facilities a family could wish for. Spacious bedrooms, laundry room, fully equipped kitchen and great dining area. We felt very comfortable here. The onsite facilities were really nice, although again, the club house could do with some updating. That didn't matter to us as we were out most days exploring the beautiful local beaches, The Tate in St Ives and National Trust sites.

Overall we had a wonderful time. I'd definitely recommend staying at John Fowler Holiday Parks, they're all over the country and you're guaranteed a very comfortable stay. The facilities they provide are great and they always have brilliant deals on!
